Situation
Single-deck screen box running a woven wire screen. Coal was heated to 30°C and was dry with a lot of fines.
PROBLEM
Blinding and pegging was the cause of significant production downtime and lost production.
- High % of recirculated material.
- Reduced sceening efficiency (limited open area).
- Stopped to clean the deck every 4 hours.
SOLUTION
FLEX-MAT Type S was installed with 1/2″ (12.7 mm) opening in stainless steel.
- Eliminated blinding and pegging.
- Reduced fines in the material.
- Increased production without stopping to clean the deck during the full day.
